Fr. Michael J. Larkin
Do you remember the dialogue that occurs between two friends in the early chapters of the Gospel of John? Philip approaches Nathaniel with astounding news:
“I have found the Messiah!”
Nathaniel responds with more than a bit of incredulity: “Oh, really, so where is he from?”
Philip blurts out excitedly:
“From Nazareth in Galilee.”
Nathaniel then comes back to Philip with one of the most intriguing questions of all times:
"What good can ever come out of Nazareth?”
Without hesitation, Philip offers Nathaniel a bold and momentous invitation:
“Come and See . . .”
Whenever I consider what is at the heart of the mission of Prince of Peace Parish Community, I can’t help but ponder this gospel interaction between friends.
Fundamentally, Prince of Peace parish has been people like you and me who believe profoundly in the good that comes out of Nazareth. A parish that is a small, community hamlet, of mission and ministries, where I believe that the power of God is present and active.
With a few more keystrokes you can view parish, organization, activities and ministries but as a true “Phillip”, my message invitation is “Come and See”
May you seek Christ, may you find Christ, may you love Christ in our midst.
